Ageing occurs at a cellular level and then we see the outward signs; the lines and wrinkles on our face or the aching in our joints, as well as the development of life-limiting diseases. Our cells need the energy to function at peak efficiency, but as we get older a lack of oxygen tells our cells its game over and eventually they shut down.
Nicotinamide
This is an essential enzyme present in all our cells that
performs a number of key roles. Its primary function is being
part of the energy conversion process that takes place within
the cell, but it also works hard to repair damaged cells and
reverse the effects of oxidisa1on in the body, so declining
levels of Nicotinamide have been identified as an important
factor in the ageing process.
